Om Jai Jagdish Hare is a well-known and popular Aarti – a devotional Hindu song. Aartis are often performed in Hindu ceremonies and occasions at the end of prayers. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu who, in the Hindu faith, is considered the supreme lord of the Universe. It was written in 1870 by a famous literary figure: Pandit Shardha Ram Phillauri, and it is now sung by almost every Hindu family all over the world.

This song is part of the 'Celebration suite' - a themed collection of songs which recognise and promote the rich culture and linguistically diverse population of Wales - This collection was made possible by the support of the Welsh Government.
